An instance of a man's photograph appearing on a woman's driving licence is reported from Thirappane in Talawa.
Somaratnnage Dayawathi made an application for a driving licence and was issued with a licence bearing number DLA013589868 dated 14/09/2006 issued by the Commissioner of Motor Traffic. The photograph appearing on it is not her's but of a man.
She complained to the police and was advised to use her national identity card along with the driving licence. She has made representations to the Commissioner of Motor Traffic for over one and a half years to rectify the error but has received no response.
