Sri Lanka's rupee hit a new life low of 115.80/116.00 versus the dollar today on import demand for dollars, dealers said.
"The rupee fell to 115.80/116.00 as a state bank bought dollars to settle import bills. There was no intervention seen to prevent the fall of the rupee," a currency dealer said on condition of anonymity. Other dealers confirmed the fall. |
