Another group of civilians were hacked to death by suspected LTTE cadres at Okanda in Ampara early this morning (April 26). Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara confirmed that five fishermen in the area were hacked to death by this group when they were engaged in fishing.
The suspected group has also set fire to three boats belonging to the fishermen.
Unidentified gunmen shot dead four farmers Saturday night in Morawewa area of Nochchikulam, the police said. Panama police are conducting further investigations over the killings.
