July 19, Colombo: Chaminda Vaas, Sri Lanka's main pace bowler for the last few years announced today that he will retire from Test cricket after the third Test against Pakistan, starting on Monday.

Vaas said however he would continue to play in Twenty20 and one-day international matches.

The bowler debuted in 1994 has taken 354 wickets in 110 tests.

Vaas last played in the match series against Pakistan in Lahore in March. He suffered minor injuries in the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore.
