Sri Lankan health officials have found the first patient infected with the Influenza A-HINI (formerly Swine Flu) virus inside the country.
Dr. Anura Senanayake, the Director of the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) at Angoda confirmed that this patient was admitted to the hospital this morning. In Sri Lanka 44 Swine flu infected patients have been found so far, but 43 of them came infected from other countries, mostly from Australia. The Health officials believe that this new patient was infected by A-HINI virus from a person who reached the country with the virus. At the moment four patients are still receiving treatments at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) at Angoda. |
