Sri Lanka ’s share market made history when it became the second best performing exchange in the world and obtained one trillion rupee earnings .Chairman of the CSE Udayasiri Kariyawasam says the All Share Price Index (ASPI) hit a high of 3,098.24 and plans are underway to become world’s first Stock Exchange. At present Peru Stock Exchange plays as the number one in stock market but local stock brokers say Sri Lanka could become worlds’ best stock broker. Speaking to media on Tuesday he said the growth of the CSE reached 106.1% for this entire year. Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake also witnessed today’s trading activities and invited local and foreign investors to invest in the Colombo Stock Exchange . “Without private sector the government cannot achieves this performance , he said. According to the Prime Minister Sri Lanka could play a vital role in stock broking due to prevailing peaceful condition of the country. |
