Tamil student from Point Pedro placed second in Math stream
About 126,000 students out of a total of 199,000 who sat the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in August this year have qualified for University Entrance, Examinations Chief Anura Edirsinghe said yesterday.
The results were released by the examinations department yesterday and based on these results, Nipuna Randunu Samarasekara of Ananda College in Colombo had topped the all island list in the Math stream with 3.3439 Z-score marks while Anton Chrises Jeninraj of Hartley College at Point Pedro in Jaffna had obtained the second highest with 3.2498 Z-score marks and Beenu Amaratunga of Nalanda College in Colombo was placed third with 3.2037 Z-score marks.
In the Science stream, Maithili Sivapathasundaram of Saiva Mangaiyar College in Colombo topped the list with 2.9388 Z-score marks while Madhusi Mahesika of Vishaka Vidyalaya in Colombo was placed second with 2.9109 Z-score marks and Pasindu Madhusanka of Nalanda College in Colombo got the third highest with 2.8496 Z-score marks.

Pasindu Namal Jayawardane of Rahula Vidyalaya, Matara with 2.5705 Z-score marks was placed first in the Arts Stream while Mihiri Hirudini of Sirimawo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya with 2.5507 Z-score marks scored the second highest and Chamila Sampathmali Karunaratne of Pushpadana Balika Vidyalaya was placed third with 2.5198 Z-score marks.

Meanwhile, Pasan Malinda Katepearachchi of Galle Mahinda Vidyalaya was placed first in the Commerce Stream with 2.8354 Z-score marks, Lanka Hansini of Sanghamitta Vidyalaya, Galle the second with 2.7402 Z-score marks and G.K. Malsha Madhusini of Nagaragiri Maha Vidyalaya in, Mavanella placed third with 2.6967 Z-score marks.
