The Kankesanthurai Harbour in the North, the main port hub in the North for decades that was disrupted by LTTE terrorists  is to be brought back to its' former glory by the government.
The rehabilitation project of the harbour is estimated at a cost of Rs.100 million and the work will be carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy.
The jetties would be transformed with modernised techniques while the port  bed would be further dredged. The work is expected to commence shortly on this project.
Once the work is completed, the KKS harbour will turn into a more commercial looking port to the benefit of the Northern people.
