Sri Lanka finished the 11th South Asian Games in Bangladesh in fourth position with 16 gold medals. Altogether Sri Lanka won 104 medal including 16 golds, 34 silvers and 54 bronze medals.

Sri Lanka gold medals came in Athletics, Karate, weight lifting, swimming, cycling and Tai Kwondo. India become champions of the 11th SAG with 90 gold medals while Pakistan finished second with 19 golds. Hosts Bangladesh finished third with 18 golds to finish ahead of Sri Lanka.
